The innovative drug blocks NNMT, which significantly speeds up the metabolic process. Thus, the discovery of scientists accelerates weight loss, without limiting food consumption.
American scientists tested medication on laboratory mice. Before that, they fed rodents with high-fat food. The researchers divided mice into several groups, which began to give created drug or placebo. After 10 days, the first group showed impressive results.
Weight loss of mice was about 7%. At the same time, the mass of white fat and the size of fat cells decreased by 30%. In addition, the invention had a healing effect on the body. The drug lowered cholesterol level in the blood of mice to normal values. Although during the experiment, rodents continued to eat fatty foods.
The introduction of the drug, which suppresses protein NNMT, did not affect the amount of food consumed by mice. During the experiment, American scientists also haven’t identified any side effects.
